Anonymous comparison limit
How the no-account demo limit works and why the counter is browser-local.
Demo users and adminsUpdated May 10, 2026
Common questions this answers
- Why does it say 1 comparison remaining?
- Is the count shared across devices?
- How do admins monitor it?
How the counter works
Public demo users can run one real comparison before creating an account. The counter is stored in localStorage in the current browser so the demo can stay low-friction and browser-local.
What this means
- The count is not a billing entitlement.
- It is not shared across browsers, devices, or cleared browser profiles.
- Sample comparisons can stay open because they do not use the real-file comparison allowance.
Monitoring
Admins should monitor aggregate funnel events such as anonymous limit reached and post-export requests. Do not track raw file names, part numbers, descriptions, prices, margins, or rows.
