Common questions this answers

  • Why do I see duplicate part numbers?
  • Does Partrek merge duplicates?
  • What if duplicates conflict?

Duplicates are common

Revit, Fabrication MEP, takeoff, and estimating exports often repeat the same part across worksets, zones, phases, assemblies, or model areas. That is not automatically wrong.

What Partrek does

  • It can consolidate repeated rows by part number and unit when the workflow calls for totals.
  • It can keep repeated rows separate by breakdown when the workflow calls for area, level, phase, package, ISO, or work-package detail.
  • It keeps source-row trace information so reviewers can understand where totals came from.
  • It flags rows needing review when identifiers, units, or quantities are not trustworthy.

What Partrek does not do

Partrek should not silently average conflicting prices, convert units, convert currencies, or approve substitutions. Those cases need review before downstream action.
