Material Export Cleaner
Clean structural spreadsheet junk from a material export before running BOM Health Check, BOM Compare, Quote Compare, Price Delta, or Material Delta.
Common questions this answers
- What does Material Export Cleaner remove?
- Does it change part numbers or quantities?
- Should I run it before BOM Compare?
- What data leaves my browser?
What it is for
Material Export Cleaner is a review-first cleanup step for messy material exports. It helps identify blank rows, repeated headers, subtotal rows, notes, title rows, empty columns, and likely non-material rows before the file moves into a full verification workflow.
What it does not change
- It does not rewrite part numbers, quantities, descriptions, units, prices, supplier names, or quote data.
- It does not silently remove rows that could be material.
- Subtotal, note, title, and likely non-material rows are flagged for review instead of treated as automatically wrong.
Cleaned preview
The cleaned preview omits clearly blank rows and repeated header rows, adds Partrek status notes, and keeps flagged rows visible in the removed/flagged review export. It is a review aid, not a corrected source of truth.
When to use it
- Use it before BOM Health Check when a single export has cover rows, notes, or repeated headers.
- Use it before BOM Compare when original and revised exports have messy spreadsheet structure.
- Use it before Quote Compare or Price Delta if the supplier file includes title blocks, totals, or note rows mixed into the table.
Privacy behavior
The cleaner runs in the browser. Raw files, raw rows, file names, part numbers, descriptions, supplier names, prices, and margins are not sent to CRM, analytics, or email by default.
