Duplicates are not always wrong

A part can appear multiple times across areas, floors, assemblies, phases, or work packages. The risk is not the duplicate itself. The risk is combining rows without knowing whether the units, descriptions, or quantities conflict.

What to check first

Start with the real part number, item number, SKU, material number, manufacturer part, or vendor part column. Preserve leading zeros, suffixes, and formatting that may identify a specific item.

When totals are not trusted

Unit mismatches, missing quantities, invalid quantities, and conflicting descriptions should stay visible as rows needing review. Partrek does not silently treat missing quantities as zero.

Use consolidation preview carefully

A consolidation preview helps teams see possible totals while keeping source rows visible. It should support the review, not erase the evidence.
