Common questions this answers

  • Are files uploaded?
  • What does Partrek store?
  • Is anonymous usage tracked with cookies?

Raw files stay local by default

The comparison workflow processes BOMs, quote files, cost lists, and price files in the browser by default. Raw source files and raw spreadsheet rows are not stored by default.

What can be saved

  • Saved import profiles store mappings and settings, not raw source rows.
  • Report metadata can store safe summaries, report IDs, and process information when a workspace feature allows it.
  • Lead capture and CRM store contact metadata, attribution, safe events, notes, and follow-up status. They do not store BOM rows, part numbers, prices, margins, or uploaded file names.

Anonymous comparison counter

Before sign-in, the one-real-comparison limit is stored in browser localStorage, not cookies. Server-side monitoring can only see privacy-safe aggregate funnel events such as limit reached, route, workflow, and remaining count.
